AUGUST 2018

The Marketing Engine.

In August 2018, Mark published The Marketing Engine on LinkedIn. The goal was to put B2B marketing on one page as one connected system.

People usually said, I love it, followed by, how long does it take to do all of this?

2026

The AI Marketing Engine.

In 2026, it evolved again into the AI Marketing Engine, the backbone of Marketing Rebuilt. The biggest change: AI agents wrapped around the entire engine.

The responsibilities will look familiar. Positioning, Brand, Pipeline, and the rest are still the job. What changes is how the work starts, who does it, and how it all connects. Ten capabilities, each with its own chapter in the book.

THE FOUNDATION REMAINS

What carried forward.

The bones of those earlier frameworks are still here: the ten capabilities, the connections between them, the pipeline focus, and the integrated thinking that makes it one system rather than a collection of parts.

But both earlier versions were built on one assumption none of us thought to question back then, which is that people would do all the work. That assumption is gone.
